We are on the North East tip of Skye – the Trotternish peninsula. Skye is a deceivingly large island – from the Skye bridge at Kyleakin to Glenview takes an hour so keep this in mind when travelling. There is an endless amount of exploring to do but here we will just mention the points of interest within half an hour of the hotel.
Brothers Point is ‘our’ walk from Glenview down to the coast – it takes about 10 minutes to get from our front door to the water’s edge and then from there you can stomp in any direction but out to the furthest tip takes another 20 minutes…stunning, beautiful, quiet.
Old Man of Storr – 5 minutes drive south from Glenview and one of the most iconic landscape images of Skye. A hike up to the man himself will take about 45 minutes but the amazing and unique landscape deserves more time and exploration – grab a pack lunch and spend the day up there.
Quiraing – 10 minutes drive north from Glenview and our favourite. It is the area at the end of the ridge of hills that runs along the middle of the Trotternish peninsula. There is a 4 mile loop walk from a carpark on the ridge or another walk up and down from the coast road at Flodigarry. Words cannot describe how beautiful, unique, breath taking this area is in any weather…pack lunches again and go for gold.
As well as these key players there are so many other things to see. Kilt rock waterfalls and their unique rock formations, the fossil museum in Ellishadder followed by discovering the dinosaur footprints on the serene (and sandy!!) Staffin beach. Walks to mystical Loch Shianta or The Fairy Glen with the beautiful spiritual energy.
Simon and Kirsty are more than happy to give tips daily on excursions depending on weather and time limits and are happy to help with booking of boat trips, fishing Ghillies, mountain led adventures….whatever your needs let us help you make your visit to Skye a special and memorable one.
