About Us
B&B and Self Catering Staffin
Glenview B&B, Isle of Skye
Glenview is our home on the Trotternish Peninsula, a short drive from Staffin and close to the sea. We sit between the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing, making this a practical base for visitors exploring the north of the island. People who stay with us usually want somewhere peaceful, well-kept, and close to the walks.
We’re Kirsty and Simon. We’ve lived on Skye for two decades.
We run Glenview, cook breakfast, keep the rooms comfortable, and help guests with the usual Skye challenges — planning walks, checking weather, finding places to eat, and navigating the roads. For us mornings start with fresh bread or muffins in the kitchen and a quick look at the forecast so we can give realistic advice for the day ahead.
Next to the house is our Shilasdair Yarn Shop, filled with naturally dyed yarns we dye on Skye. You’ll also find our small yoga studio, which guests can use when it’s available. These spaces reflect what we do day to day, and visitors often enjoy them as part of the stay.
The two B&B rooms are at the front of the house, with king beds and private bathrooms. They’re bright, and kept to a high standard. The Garden Studio self catering has its own entrance and a small kitchenette with microwave for easy meals (The studio does not include breakfast). It’s a compact space suited to shorter stays and early starts for hiking.
Our Approach
Our approach is straightforward: friendly, available when needed, and respectful of guests’ space.
We can help with dinner reservations, timings for walks, road advice, and anything that makes travel on Skye smoother.
For B&B guests breakfast is homemade — bread, muffins, fruit, and whatever is fresh — and guests often take leftovers for the day.
Whether you’re here for the walking routes, the coastline, or a quiet break away from the busier parts of Skye, Glenview offers a calm base with comfortable rooms and local guidance when you need it.
