Photography

The Isle of Skye offers some of the most vivid and photogenic landscapes of the Inner Hebrides.

We welcome photography clubs and can offer special discount rates if you would like to book out the whole hotel for your group.  Email enquiries@glenviewskye.co.uk or complete the Contact Us form with your requirements and we will endeavour to reply to you within 24 hours to let you know if we can accomodate your request and finalise arrangements.

Photographs on this web site were taken in the local Trotternish area around the Glenview Hotel at the start of the year (January to March 2008).

Walking

There are a variety of walking routes around the area and we are currently putting together a selection of our favourites... so watch this space.  If you fancy exploring the area with a man's best friend you are welcome to stay at the Glenview where pets can be accomodated with prior notice.

Walk 1 - The Old Man of Storr

The Old Man of Storr is a majestic example of Jurassic rock formation towering 48 metres over the landscape.  The five hour round trip to the Old Man covers 8km/5miles with 640m of ascent.

Bird Spotting

The Isle of Skye is famed for it's Golden Eagles and White Tailed Eagles, but believe us there are plenty more species of birds and wildlife to see on Skye.

Historic (and not so historic) Skye

The Isle of Skye has a rich history reflected in the landscape, buildings and people.  But did you know that much more recently scenes from the Hollywood blockbuster Stardust were filmed on Isle of Skye?
